Some Like it Hot! Summer Memories,
which can be virtually anything that reminds you of bygone summers. Did they always feel hotter when you were younger? Were the skies bluer? I think they were! So let's see some of those summer memories in your projects! They could be beach scenes, summer picnics, fishing for tadpoles, or crabs, hot rainy days, (even cold rainy days!) flowers, buzing insects, lots of bright colours or something completely different, it's up to you!!

I made a 3D stand up card using the
Beach Monkey - Fish stamp from our sponsor. It made me remember how much I always wanted to go fishing in summer but I could never enjoy such an experience.
Sherryn also used
Beach Monkey - Fish and made an easel card, love the bottle top with the anchor.
For my project I used "
Isabella Beach" from our sponsor Bugaboo Stamps. This sand castle pop up card reminds me a family trip to the beach, when I was a child, by 1978.

I started with this cute
Brats Birthday Girl Word Search - Happy Birthday as I am a summer baby! So two lucky people are going to receive these postcards near their birthday:)
I couldn't make up my mind what to use, so I dug into my Bugaboo folder and made this 'Wish You Were here' beach scene card starring five
Bugaboo images, three of them have been 3D. I've added eyelash wool and little orange crabs cut from a Woodware Punch. The Surf 's Up paper was from a Crafty Magazine. More on my Blog!
For me, there are no Summer memories without a good red and juicy piece of watermelon. It was my childhood snack all the Summers. I remember my mother cutting a large watermelon and giving us those large pieces, and we running outside to eat it.
For my watermelon box, I used
"Summer Butterfly Bear Watermelon" from our sponsor Bugaboo. I colored it with Spectrum Noir pens.
Poor Cazzy has hurt her arm so may not be here today. Get well soon Cazzy!
Thanks Lyn, I am much better now and this is the first crafting I have done for a week because I was not supposed to be using my right arm - good job I am left handed!
I've done a beach scene card too! I think Lyn's is better than mine though. I used lots of happy crab images,
scuba crab,
boating crab and one
building sand piles (and there are lots more cute crab images available), as well as
Fried Chicken and a
seahorse (which we featured in a previous challenge) from
Bugaboo. I coloured them with Promarkers, added some glossy accents then painted the sea with mica paints. I added a little brass lighthouse charm on twine, and inside is blue and white striped paper to match the twine.
I hope to use the image from Digital Delights soon, in any case you will find a great project made with it in the reminder post next week!
