The Quirky Falling Leaves.-Challenge 20

Fall has just begun!!!!!!

Leaves start changing it color: red, brown, orange, yellow are everywhere. Then slowly start to fall and cover the ground. What a beautiful and romantic season. Aaaaahhhhhh!!!

This is Monica and it´s my turn to set the challenge. Lucky you that have Autumn. This my favorite season, even though, I don´t have it in my country (Costa Rica).

This challenge is all about leaves, leaves falling and autumn colors. Just anything Autumn related goes. Let´s celebrate this romantic season with our projects.

Myriam used  My Weekend 1 and papers from  Autumn Fruit Basket Digital Stamp and Paper Pack and said "This card reminds me my aunt, that always makes me pick the falling leaves."

I love using digital stamps because I can size them to my project and print as many as I need.  I actually printed two of this image so I could cut out and "pop" elements off the tag to create some dimension.

I painted both images using my Silks, an acrylic glaze that shimmers, and then cut out and adheared key elements to the base using foam pop dots.  Then I added a layer of Ranger Stickles and CTMH Liquid Glass for that final bit of sparkle.  A bit of fiber for texture, two colors of mats and a bit of poetry about Autumn finished off this lovely little lady. For my first today´s Challenge idea, I used the Angel Bear from Beary Dust Stamps. I made a box which I decorated with this beautiful image. For to paint it, I used Spectrum Noir, in the following combinations: Bear: GB10, GB8, EB5

Green leaves: DG3, CG2, CT1

Wine leaves: DR7, DR6, DR4

Yellow leaves: GB5, CT4, CT2

Orange leaves: CR10, GB5, OR1

And for my second one, I made a simple card using the Pumpkin Swirls from Kaz Kraftz. In addition I used some Prima flowers and the same color scheme for the image. Have a Great Week!!

MONICA

For my falling leaves project, I made a tent card. 

On the back I add a tree with falling leaves. In front, I used this lovely "Baby Bee Enjoy The Fall", provided by our generous sponsor. 

The digi is attached to a string just to give the sense of the baby flying on the falling leave. 

For my card base I used craft cardstock, embossed with a Fall Leaves Folder and then distress with fall colors.

Hi! For my project I used Fall Kat  from  Stichy Bear our special sponsor.

My card has many beautiful colors of Autumn, with fall leaves. I like this season but we do not have it my country  the colours are wonderful.

 

 My project is colored with Aquarelle pencils and I used distress to the leaves of my card. 

Cazzy 

I used Ike's Art Fall Cat coloured with Promarkers, I am rather fond of Ike's cats! I also used the lovely swirly paper from the Coosty Creations Autumn Fruit Basket Digital Stamp and Paper Pack, on the front and inside the card. I found some "ribbon" which is string, cord and wooden beads which I bought from Lidl ages ago, it was perfect for this card.

Here I am, Monday afternoon, with my card...I used the  Pumpkin Swirls from Kaz Kraftz. I've 3D-ed the pumpkins, coloured with Promarkers and added Stickles Glitter, eyelash wool, ribbon and punched out leaves.  Although my phone downloaded the lovely papers, my old computer couldn't find them so I opted for some leaves and pumpkins papers I found whilst hunting through my files for them! The orange ribbon and the means to make the sentiment came from a tin case set from Laura Ashley. I've also added a stamp by Hero Arts using an autumn scene in aged mahogany, which I also used on the larger punched out leaves, plus orange and green Promarkers. The lower card has no glitter (I bet you never noticed!)

Reminder Challenge #19 Some Like it Hot! Summer Memories,

 Hi Quirky people! Thank you for joining in with our .....

  Some Like it Hot! Summer Memories Challenge so far! This is a reminder that there's still a whole week to join in! MONICA

My Summer Memories are always related to hours spent by the shore, looking for shells, star fishes and sand dollars. This lovely "Isabella Beach"" reminds me myself as a little girl, just having fun with the most simple things of life.

I made a 3d card trying to give the sense of the little girl by the shore. My digi is colored with Spectrum Noir pens.

 KEMLY

For this Summer Memories,  I used "Crab Boat",  that reminds me when my little sister played with a boat during one of our  family's trip in 1978.

I made a wave card which reminds this adventure. The digis is colored with coloured pencils.

Cazzy - I will be along later. I want to say a big thank you to Cindy for being a great Quirky teamie, and I hope we will see you around in future.

Phew - made it! This is not a finished project, I have decided it will make a lovely notebook but just don't have the time to finish it today, so I thought I would show you the panel as it is. The digis are all from Digital Delights, the little girl is Beach Babe Britt, and I added a coconut tree (which is part of the Jungle Buddies accessories set) and oysters (clams) with their trail of pearls, just like you would find on the average British beach (not), seriously it does remind me of the Torquay palm trees which grow in our hotel garden in Torquay, and there are lots of shells on the beach but no pearls! It is coloured with Promarkers, with Liquid pearl pearls, and Cosmic Shimmer sunglass lenses (second attempt - note to self: do not use Rock Candy Stickles for glasses ever again!). Papers are freebies.

I am also working on a Bugaboo project, hope to show you soon!

For this card I combined Summertime Peekers  - swim, Beach Baby 2 and Beach Monkey Swim to create a scene that reminds me of watching children swimming in the sea this summer. I used some pale blue beach hut printed vellum behind the die cut scene, fixed with fish brads.

Here I am! Late for my own challenge...it's about 2 in the morning but I have been away! I used Bugaboo's cute little fishing monkey...and gave him a friend, memories of Hubby John and brother in law, Alistair, fishing off Old Harry Rocks in a sinking boat! I've 3D-ed the little monkeys and coloured them with Promarkers. I have another card I'll add later...

 And as if by magic...Here's my next card added just before midnight Wednesday. Same Backing papers and that cute little swimming Bugaboo monkey, which I've 3D-ed.

 

 .I've coloured with Promarkers, added by own 'scene' plus, Stickles Glitter glue, a ribbon, a rub-on sentiment and a seahorse charm. Still time to jpin in!

Challenge #19 A Quirky Bit Hot? Summer Memories

 Hi Quirky people, it's me here (Lyn) Ready for our next challenge? And what have I chosen this time round? Well, I'm on my way to Cornwall hoping that this coming week will be hot hot hot! So how about...

I made a 3D stand up card using the Beach Monkey - Fish stamp from our sponsor. It made me remember how much I always wanted to go fishing in summer but I could never enjoy such an experience.

I started with this cute Brats Birthday Girl Word Search - Happy Birthday as I am a summer baby!  So two lucky people are going to receive these postcards near their birthday:)

I couldn't make up my mind what to use, so I dug into my Bugaboo folder and made this 'Wish You Were here' beach scene card starring five Bugaboo images, three of them have been 3D. I've added eyelash wool and little orange crabs cut from a Woodware Punch. The Surf 's Up paper was from a Crafty Magazine. More on my Blog!

MONICA

For me, there are no Summer memories without a good red and juicy piece of watermelon. It was my childhood snack all the Summers. I remember my mother cutting a large watermelon and giving us those large pieces, and we running outside to eat it.
For my watermelon box, I used "Summer Butterfly Bear Watermelon" from our sponsor Bugaboo. I colored it with Spectrum Noir pens.

Poor Cazzy has hurt her arm so may not be here today. Get well soon Cazzy!
Thanks Lyn, I am much better now and this is the first crafting I have done for a week because I was not supposed to be using my right arm - good job I am left handed!

I've done a beach scene card too! I think Lyn's is better than mine though. I used lots of happy crab images, scuba crab, boating crab and one building sand piles (and there are lots more cute crab images available), as well as Fried Chicken and a seahorse (which we featured in a previous challenge) from Bugaboo. I coloured them with Promarkers, added some glossy accents then painted the sea with mica paints. I added a little brass lighthouse charm on twine, and inside is blue and white striped paper to match the twine.

I hope to use the image from Digital Delights soon, in any case you will find a great project made with it in the reminder post next week!
