Welcome to Quirky Crafts Challenges

Welcome to Quirky Crafts Challenges the place where any craft project is allowed.

We're a small design team with big inspiration.

On the first Sunday of the month, at 6pm UK time, we will set a new challenge which will close on the 28th of that month at midday. The DT will pick their top three favourites and you could win a prize and join us as a Guest Designer. Winners are posted on the first Sunday in the month (midday usually) before the new challenge - don't forget to come and check if you are a winner.

Challenge 36 - 10th October Sketch by Caro

It's Challenge Time again here on the Quirky Crafts Blog, and this time we have a sketch by the talented Caro. We look forward to seeing your interpretation of this sketch and are happy to accept any form of altered art, scrapbook pages as well as cards. Feel free to rotate the sketch, invert it or use it in any way you wish, just so long as we can still see the sketch within your work. We also have a guest designer on the team, Debbie, who won Challenge 34 with her gorgeous card. We had some great entries for Challenge 35 recipe and the winner will be announced later this evening or tomorrow. Caro has kindly offered to provide a small prize to the winner of this challenge, who will also have the opportunity to join the DT for the next challenge and be able to proudly display the winner's badge.

challenge 35 - 26th September - Recipe by Cazzy

Thank you to everyone who joined in with Deanne's sketch...all your cards were wonderful and we will be back later with the announcement of the Challenge 34 winner.

Get out your sewing box! This week it is Cazzy's turn to set the challenge and here it is...

My recipe is to make something that must include the following:
Stitching (real or faux)
Lace (paper or real)
At least two different buttons.
and finally a colour: teal or turquoise.

We'd love to see your interpretation on this recipe and are happy to accept cards although we would prefer to see altered art or scrapbook pages or metalwork or stitching or some other interesting crafty creation.

challenge 34 - 12th September - Sketch by Deanne

Firstly thank you to everyone who joined in with Anne's challenging recipe and welcome back after the summer break. With autumn fast approaching and kids back at school there should be more time for crafting again so we are back to our usual fortnightly challenges from now on.

As you may have noticed from a previous blog entry Deanne has sadly had to step down as co-ordinator of the blog and challenges. We wish her all the best with her new ventures and she will be sadly missed. However, she couldn't leave us without some inspiration and her parting gift to us was this sketch for this weeks challenge. We look forward to seeing your interpretation of this sketch and are happy to accept any form of altered art, scrapbook pages as well as cards. Feel free to rotate the sketch, invert it or use it in any way you wish, just so long as we can still see the sketch within your work.

Please check back on Sunday for our next challenge.

Tuesday, 31 August 2010

It is with great regret that over a few months we have had some design team members leave and go on to pastures new. We wished them all the best on their new Journey thanked them greatly for being a part of Quirky Crafts Challenges for the time they were with us.

Sadly I myself now am having to leave the challenges due to time and commitments that are needed within my family and working life.
I hated saying goodbye to the girls and leaving the challenges behind, but I just cannot commit to them and hate letting people down.

Luckily for you the girls want to continue with the challenge blog so the challenges will run as usual on a fortnightly basis. I'm sure they will keep you posted on the goings on.

I wish all the best to Anne, Cazzy, Caro and Lyn with the challenges and I'll try to pop in for a challenge as and when I can.

Thank you for taking the time to read this
